Description

Swimmers burn a lot of calories during practice and need large amounts of protein to help with muscle recovery. If you are looking for a healthy and delicious smoothie recipe that will satisfy your swimmer’s need for a high-calorie, high-protein, post-workout, recovery drink, try this strawberry-vanilla protein smoothie! With just a few simple ingredients and a blender, you can whip up a refreshing and nutritious drink that your athlete will love!

This is our son, Alex’s favorite. We use this as a post-workout smoothie to ensure he is getting enough protein and amino acids to sustain muscle repair and boost his immune system. This is a simple but reliable staple of our daily regimen.

Ingredients

To make a strawberry-vanilla protein smoothie, you will need the following ingredients:

1 cup | Organic Strawberries or Organic Frozen Strawberries (preferred)

1 cup | Vanilla Greek Yogurt (If unsweetened, use honey to taste)

1 cup | A2 Whole Milk (Organic if possible) or Rice Milk (Non-dairy option)

2 scoops | Metagenics Biopure Protein

5-6 Ice Cubes (add if using unfrozen strawberries)

Instructions

1 | Begin by washing the strawberries and removing the stems. If using frozen strawberries, let them thaw for a few minutes before blending.

2 | Add the strawberries, milk, yogurt, and protein powder to a blender.

3 | Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy.

4 | If the smoothie is too thick, add a handful of ice and blend again until desired consistency is reached.

5 | Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy!

Not only is this strawberry-vanilla protein smoothie delicious, but it’s also packed with nutrients. Strawberries are a great source of vitamin C and antioxidants, while milk and yogurt provide calcium and vitamin D, which are essential for strong bones and teeth. And if you choose to add honey, you’ll get a natural sweetener that’s also rich in antioxidants.

So, the next time you’re in need of a high protein, muscle-building recovery drink, skip the store-bought drinks and whip up a delicious and healthy strawberry-vanilla protein smoothie instead. Your taste buds and your body will thank you!

Pour and enjoy!
