Understanding Championship Meets

As swimmers advance through the USA Swimming Age Group Motivational Time Standards, championship meets become increasingly more important.

The earliest championship meets are bronze, silver, and gold champs. These are the sub-A standard meets and have their own qualifying times.

The most recognized meets that put swimmers on the path to the Olympics is Age Group Champs which was formerly called the Junior Olympics.
