Junior Nationals Swimming Cuts

USA Swimming’s Junior Nationals is an exclusive event tailored for swimmers who are 18 years old and under. It serves as a crucial platform for these young athletes to showcase their talent and skills in the pool. With meets held twice a year, in December for short course and August for long course, Junior Nationals offers a comprehensive competitive experience for participants.

Participating in Junior Nationals provides swimmers with invaluable exposure to high-level competition, allowing them to gauge their abilities against peers from across the nation. Not only does this foster a sense of camaraderie among young swimmers, but it also instills discipline, determination, and sportsmanship.

Moreover, Junior Nationals acts as a pivotal stepping stone for these athletes to progress to the upper echelons of national and international swimming competitions. By competing at this level, swimmers have the opportunity to qualify for prestigious events such as national championships and even international meets, representing their clubs, regions, and ultimately their country on the world stage.

The experience gained from Junior Nationals goes beyond the pool, as swimmers learn valuable lessons in perseverance, goal setting, and time management. Coaches, scouts, and college recruiters often keep a close eye on performances at Junior Nationals, using it as a benchmark for identifying promising talent for recruitment to collegiate swimming programs.

In essence, Junior Nationals not only celebrates the achievements of young swimmers but also acts as a crucial milestone in their journey towards excellence in the sport of swimming. It provides a platform where dreams are nurtured, aspirations are realized, and future champions are forged.

New time standards are published yearly and can be found below. Time “cuts” are separated in an easy-to-read format and men’s and women’s times are on separate charts.
