Futures Swimming Cuts
USA Swimming’s Futures Championships are a significant part of the competitive swimming calendar, designed to provide a bridge between sectional-level and national-level competitions.
These events cater to emerging talent within the United States, offering a platform for regional competition.
The championships encompass a variety of swimming disciplines, and they attract swimmers from diverse backgrounds. Participants have the opportunity to achieve time standards that qualify them for higher-level national competitions.
Futures is considered by most to be the entry-level into the highest levels of swimming competition. NCAA Division 1 (D1) schools will often use Futures Qualifying Times as a benchmark for recruiting future swimmers.

This series of meets plays a pivotal role in the athlete development pathway, identifying and nurturing future elite swimmers in accordance with USA Swimming’s long-term goals.
New time standards are published yearly and can be found below. Time “cuts” are separated in an easy-to-read format and men’s and women’s times are on separate charts.
